Locally FUMC provides volunteers to work at the local food pantry, the recycling center and the Washington Country Ministerial Association’s Assistance Program.

Through our denomination we contribute to ministry and mission programs through Nebraska, the nation, and the world. Included are

• Missionaries around the world
• United Methodist colleges and seminaries
• Community centers and programs addressing the needs of children, youth and seniors
• Pension benefits for pastors
• Programs for immigrants and other special needs populations.

First United Methodist Church also participates in Special Offerings each year:

• Human Relations Day
• One Great Hour of Sharing
• Native American Ministries Sunday
• Peace with Justice Sunday
• World Communion Sunday
• United Methodist Student Day.
